From the wide plains of Africa to the deep forests of North America, Neely’s camera catches wildlife moments most of us will never get to see up close. His love for nature started when he was a kid, flipping through National Geographic magazines and heading out on camping trips with his family.
“I got hooked early on watching Discovery Channel shows,” he says. What began as simple curiosity soon turned into a passion — and later, a full-on career in wildlife photography. Now, Neely spends his time capturing raw, tender, and sometimes once-in-a-lifetime shots of animal mothers and their babies in the wild.

One thing that really makes Neely’s wildlife photography shine is his insane patience, even in brutal conditions. Animal moms are super protective, so getting close enough for that perfect, intimate shot isn’t easy. Sometimes it takes hours… even days of just sitting still and waiting.

“The toughest part is usually the weather,” Neely shares. “I’ve waited in temps as low as -40°F just to catch a glimpse of foxes hunting.”
It’s in these harsh and demanding environments that he captures the softest, most powerful moments — a mother’s care, her watchful eye, and the unspoken bond with her baby. These raw and rare shots are what make his wildlife photos not just beautiful, but also priceless for anyone who loves nature photography and the magic of the animal kingdom.

Working with wild animals isn’t always soft and sweet — sometimes it’s downright dangerous. Neely remembers one heart-pounding moment in Kenya: “A baby elephant wandered across in front of our vehicle, so we stopped. Then out of nowhere, we heard this loud trumpeting roar behind us. We had accidentally put ourselves right between a mother and her calf — and trust me, that’s the last place you wanna be.”

The raw power and protective instincts of a mother elephant are unforgettable. And honestly, it’s a reminder that the bond between parent and child is universal — whether it’s humans, elephants, or any other species. These intense yet beautiful experiences are what make wildlife photography so powerful, giving us a rare look at the risks, the love, and the pure magic of the animal kingdom.

For Neely, the magic isn’t just in snapping the perfect shot — it’s about what those photos can spark in us. “Wildlife photography in natural habitats can teach people about the fragile balance of ecosystems and how every living being is connected,” he explains.
Whether it’s a zebra gently standing over her foal or a deer keeping watch on her tiny fawn, his images carry a bigger message. They’re not just beautiful wildlife photos, they’re reminders of why conservation, wildlife protection, and preserving nature matter so much. Neely hopes every viewer walks away not only in awe of the tenderness in the wild, but also feeling the urgency to protect it — so future generations can still experience these moments too.
